Cleaning your Custom Hair Unit

  1. Carefully remove your hair unit from your head and use a towel, cotton wool or your hands to roll the adhesive from the base of the toupee. (Use C22 solvent remover if the adhesive is difficult to remove)

  2. Remove any remaining adhesive from your scalp using the same technique, it's also safe to use C22 or rubbing alcohol on your scalp to help with the process. Shave the horseshoe area that was underneath the toupee with a trimmer and shampoo and condition your hair as usual. I'd recommend to let your scalp breathe for a few hours if possible.

  3. Using warm water carefully wash and rinse the toupee with shampoo and conditioner at least twice to remove any hair products and unpleasant smells from the hair. Use cool air if using a hair dryer or leave to dry naturally if you have the time.

  4. Place and position the dry toupee over the shaved area on your scalp (use a 3 way mirror if possible) and use a pencil to mark out the base of the hair line on your forehead. Remove the toupee and place to one side.

  5. wipe your shaved scalp with rubbing alcohol and a towel or cotton wool to remove any oils from the skin.

  6. Apply your scalp protector of choice and allow to dry. (Use the pencil line as your guide)

  7. Apply at least 2 - 3 layers of ghost bond adhesive (make sure the applied layer has dried clear in colour before applying the next layer) or use your adhesive of choice.

  8. Using your hairline as your guide place the toupee onto your scalp from front to back. (Use a positioning spray to help manoeuvre the toupee into place if necessary)

  9. Condition, comb and style your hair to suit.
