Hair Unit Care Guide

Maintain Your
Unit Like a Pro

A step-by-step maintenance process for long-lasting wear, a healthy scalp and a flawless finish every time.

01
Before You Begin

What You'll Need

๐Ÿงด
C22 Solvent Remover
Breaks down stubborn adhesive from the base and scalp
๐Ÿ’ง
Rubbing Alcohol
Degreases the scalp before bonding
๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ
Scalp Protector
Protects skin from direct adhesive contact
๐Ÿ”—
Ghost Bond Adhesive
Primary bonding agent โ€” 2 to 3 layers required
๐Ÿ“
Pencil + 3-Way Mirror
For accurate hairline positioning
01
Step One

Remove the Unit

โ†’
Carefully lift the unit from your headPeel slowly โ€” never pull hard at the front hairline
โ†’
Roll adhesive off the base using a towel, cotton wool or your fingersWork from the edges inward in small circular motions
โ†’
Use C22 solvent if adhesive is stubbornApply to the base, let it sit briefly, then roll off
02
Step Two

Clean Your Scalp

Remove Residue

  • Roll remaining adhesive from scalp using cotton wool or towel
  • Use C22 or rubbing alcohol to clear stubborn residue
  • Be gentle around the hairline edges

Scalp Health

  • Shave the horseshoe area with a trimmer
  • Shampoo and condition your remaining hair as usual
  • Let your scalp breathe for a few hours where possible
โœ“ Scalp breathing time reduces irritation and improves next bond
03
Step Three โ€” If Needed

Wash the Unit

โš  Only wash when product build-up or odour is present
1
Use warm water to gently wash and rinseAlways support the base โ€” never scrub aggressively
2
Shampoo and condition at least twiceRemoves product build-up and any unpleasant odours
3
Dry on cool air or leave to dry naturallyNever use hot air โ€” it damages the base and hair fibres
04
Step Four

Mark Your Hairline

๐Ÿชž
Use a 3-Way Mirror
Check all angles โ€” front, left and right โ€” before marking
โœ๏ธ
Pencil the Line
Place the dry unit, position carefully, then mark the hairline on your forehead
๐Ÿ“
Remove and Set Aside
Lift the unit off and keep it safe โ€” this line is your bonding guide
05
Step Five

Prep for Bonding

1
Wipe the shaved scalp with rubbing alcoholUse a towel or cotton wool โ€” removes all oils from the skin
2
Apply your scalp protector of choiceStay within your pencil line guide โ€” allow to dry fully before continuing
3
Apply 2 to 3 layers of Ghost Bond adhesiveEach layer must dry clear before applying the next โ€” never rush this step
โš  Applying over wet adhesive is the most common bonding mistake
06
Step Six

Apply the Unit

๐Ÿ‘†
Front to Back
Always place the hairline first, then lay back to rear. Use your pencil mark as the anchor point.
๐Ÿ’จ
Positioning Spray
Use a positioning spray if you need extra time to manoeuvre the unit before it sets.
๐Ÿคฒ
Press Firmly
Work across the entire base โ€” apply even pressure to activate the bond from edge to edge.
โฑ๏ธ
Give it Time
Allow the adhesive to fully cure before sweating, washing or heavy styling.
07
Final Step

Condition, Comb
& Style

Apply a leave-in conditioner or light styling product, comb through gently from root to tip and finish with your preferred style. Done.

โœ“ Avoid heavy product near the hairline โ€” it shortens bond life
